Kiwilink Vanuatu Report April 2014
2014 sees the beginning of a new era in the leadership of Kiwilink Vanuatu. For a number of years Ron Bergman and his team have wanted to hand the ministry over to a new group of people. Following the visits to Vanuatu in 2011 and 2013 by members of Unite Church (formally Nelson City Church of Christ), the church has decided to take on the leadership of Kiwilink Vanuatu. The team will be John & Sue Cunningham, Stefan and Catherine Herbst and David & Bev Todd, who went on the last trip with Kiwilink in October 2013. The Unite Team was greatly impacted by the local people they met and their dedication and devotion to God and His kingdom. The new team has learnt a lot from Ron, seen in him a dedication to the people of Vanuatu and caught his “heart for God’s mission” there. Ron had so much confidence in the Unite team that he told us “we could go to Vanuatu without him”. That we did and we were welcomed by the Ni-Vanuatu people just like Ron is. The team met The General Secretary of Churches of Christ Vanuatu, Richardson Toka last year and got to know him and Ps Lewis Wari, the development officer. Richardson has kept in contact with us and sent a report of a visit to Tanna that they made in February. He comments below about their visit to Imarap. This is a one of the new church plants visited by the Unite Team last year. I and Ps. Lewis with the accompany of Ps. Sam Garae , his wife, Elder William Lomae and other members Visited Imarap Churches of Christ form the 22nd to 23rd of feb which is Sunday.
